Watch Walks is built around a simple promise: your data stays yours. Our apps are designed to work without collecting any personal information. This policy explains exactly what that means.

The short version

We do not collect, store on our servers, sell, rent, or share any of your personal data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything happens on your own devices.

The watch app

When you install a Watch Walks trail on your Garmin watch, the app reads your daily step and distance data on the watch itself to work out how far you've travelled along your chosen trail. This information is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else. Your trail progress is saved in the app's local storage on your watch.

The companion app

The optional Watch Walks companion app for your phone reads your trail progress directly from your watch over Bluetooth and stores it locally on your phone, so it can show your progress and the badges you've earned. It does not create an account, does not use any server, and does not transmit your data anywhere. Standard device backups (such as iCloud or Android backup) are controlled by you through your phone's own settings.

This website

This website is a set of static pages. We do not set tracking cookies, run analytics, or embed advertising. Our hosting provider may keep basic, anonymised server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability, as is standard for any website; we do not use these to identify or profile you.

Children

Watch Walks is not directed at children, and because we collect no personal data, we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Your control

Because your data lives only on your own devices, you are always in control of it. Uninstalling an app removes its stored progress from that device.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the apps handle data, we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
